Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET)

CTET – or Central Teacher Eligibility Test – is the most popular TET exam. The exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) across India. Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (Assam TET)

Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (or Assam TET) is conducted by the Assam Department of Elementary Education(ADEE). Qualifying the exam makes you eligible for lower primary and upper primary school teaching positions. 

ADEE conducts two separate exams to recruit lower primary school teachers and upper primary school teachers. You must have a diploma/degree in elementary education to appear for lower primary positions. Similarly, to apply for upper primary school positions in the exam, you should have a graduate degree along with at least 50% marks in senior secondary.

Bihar Teachers Eligibility Test (Bihar TET)

Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) conducts Bihar TET (or BSTET). The exam is conducted in two levels – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is mandatory for candidates who wish to teach class 1-V; Paper 2 is mandatory for people who wish to teach class V-VIII. 

Nagaland Teacher Eligibility Test (NLTET)

Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) conducts the NLTET exam once a year to recruit teachers for primary and higher primary classes. Usually, the exam is conducted in April (it’s subject to change). So, check the details before starting your preparation. 

Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET)

PSTET is conducted by the Punjab School Education Board to recruit teachers for primary classes (1-V) and upper primary classes (VI-VII) in government schools. 

Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET)

The Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) conducts the REET exam. Similar to the CTET exam, the REET exam is conducted in two levels – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper -1 is meant for people who wish to teach lower primary classes (class I -V); those who wish to teach class VI – VII, must take Paper- 2.
